Credit and Hire purchase

In the 1920s, the USA went through a series of changes, from the economic aspect. Each of them affected the country in different ways, some for good and others for worse. During this period, USA's economy boosted, it led most of the world’s industries, the economic growth was huge. 

To start, we have to mention the “Buy now, pay later” hire purchase system. People were encouraged by the government to buy the new products that were starting to come out, even though you didn't have the necessary money to buy them. Every bank started offering people new ways to lend them money. Banks lended money to speculators as well. "Speculators" were investors who borrowed money from the banks to buy shares from the companies and when the price of them got higher, they sold them again, this way, they would get a profit from them. Then, they would pay the loan and still win money. However, they didn't have to pay the complete value of the shares.

Marketing and advertising played an important role because they encouraged people to buy goods. Americans were encouraged to spend their money and not save up, people's mind changed. Before this, they saved up money and used it for things they really needed to buy, but now they started spending their money because they were told that was the right thing to do. Many people thought that credit and hire purchase did not really help the economy, because poor people spent money they didn't really have, causing them long-term economic problems.

But, did this acutually helped the economy to grow? At that moment it looked like it did, industries were producing at a mass scale due to Fordism (More production in less time). People were able to acquire what they needed and even more, due to the "Buy now, pay later" scheme. However, even though it looked as if the economy grew a lot, later on, the country would fall into a huge depression, because people couldn't pay their debts as they had no saved money. Industries and shops would also stop selling goods and that meant a huge loss of money. Many millonaire people would go in bankrupt.

1932 Presidential Elections

Essay Question: How important were republican reactions to the "Wall Street Crash" ad causes of Roosevelt's success in the presidential elections of 1932.

In the year 1832, Roosevelt win the presidential elections in USA. Republican reactions to the "Wall Street Crash", played an important role over the people's opinion. There can be different points of view, whether if these reactions helped him to win or not.

On the one hand, it can be said that Hoover and the Republican reactions to the "Wall Street Crash", in a way "caused" Roosevelt's victory. Hoover was known as the "Do-Nothing" president, due to his lack of efficiency. Hoover and the Republicans thought that the depression was a consecuence of economic problems in Europe, so they didn't intervine in economy. They said that things will change on their own, that no help from the Government was needed. Hoover's government was seen as "Useless", and it can be said that this gave Roosevelt the victory.

On the other hand, it can be seen as if Hoover and Republican reactions had no influence over the elections. From this point of view, it is seen as if Roosevelt won the elections because people needed a "Salvation" and Roosevelt was the only way out of the depression, because due to the fact that Hoover was the "Do-Nothing" president, people needed someone who wasn't Hoover in power.

As a conclusion, it can be said that Roosevelt's victory can be seen from two points of view, as a cause of Hoover and Republican reactions to the "Wall Street Crash" or because people needed someone who wasn't Hoover in power.

My name is Ramiro Javier Couceiro, I'm 15 years old and I live in Adrogue in an ordinary house. My father's name is Javier and my mother's is Maria Victoria. I have an older sister called Sofia.

I'm a "tall" boy, I used to be very blonde, but now my   air is darker. I have brown eyes, a big nose and I have Braces.

My personality is a bit complicated, I get angry really fast, but I'm not agressive. However, I'm usually happy and on a good mood.

I play rugby in Club Pucara 3 times a week, and I have many friends there. I aldo go to the gym 3 times a week. However, what I like the most is being with my friends.

As a conclusion, I can say tha I am a really happy boy and that I enjoy being with my friends on top of everything
